My painting explores existential anguish, collective trauma, and memory through forms in a constant state of dissolution and reconstruction.
My practice is gestural and combines mixed media with collages made from fabrics, which I paint directly onto the canvas. I am interested in the histories carried by these materials; for me, their traces of wear and previous lives function as carriers of memory.
Through layers, tears, and overlaps, I try to approach memory as something fragmented and fragile, while trauma becomes inscribed both in the form and in the material itself.
Painting becomes an in-between space where the subject is tested between dissolution and the need to persist. Through the process of painting, I search for this tension—the moment when something seems to be disappearing, yet at the same time struggles to remain.
